LOMITA, CA – The City of Lomita is proud to receive a $7,000 grant from the California Water Service Group’s (Cal Water) seventh annual Firefighter Grant Program.
With this generous grant, Lomita aims to improve our local firefighters’ well-being by adding ergonomic office chairs and recliners to the Lomita Fire Station. These improvements are essential to creating a healthy workplace environment that fosters recovery, focus and resilience among firefighters and bolsters both their physical and mental well-being.
“We are proud to support our local firefighters and give them the tools and spaces they need to recover,” said Lomita City Manager Andrew Vialpando. “We extend our deepest gratitude to Cal Water for funding these upgrades that will allow our fire station to better serve our City and the surrounding communities.”
These ergonomic chairs help mitigate common repetitive stress injuries while providing a safe and comfortable space for firefighters to decompress and do administrative work between physically and emotionally demanding calls.
The City of Lomita is proud to support the Lomita Fire Station with these enhancements, creating a safer, more supportive work environment that values recovery and well-being as essential parts of public safety.
