The City sponsors a taxi cab program for Lomita’s senior and disabled residents. Service is provided round-the-clock to and from any point within the service area and the below satellite points.
Residents 60 years of age and older or disabled persons of any age are eligible. At the time of application, you must show proof of Lomita residency, age and disability. Identification from the DMV, a Medicare Card or a doctor’s certificate is considered appropriate identification.
The service area is limited to trips originating and terminating between Hawthorne Blvd. and Vermont Ave., between Sepulveda Blvd. and Pacific Coast Highway and where the City boundary crosses over the highway. Anything beyond the designated service area requires an additional fee.

The service area also includes the following satellite points:
Each one-way trip requires a $1.00 co-pay, payable directly to the driver by credit card, debit card or cash. Trips no longer need to be purchased in advance at City Hall, as trips can be purchased with the driver and will be credited to the individually assigned Dial-A-Ride swipe card. Participants are allowed a maximum of 40 trips per month.
Call the designated number for Lomita Dial-a-Ride: 1-866-424-1678. Provide the dispatcher with your name, pick-up location, destination, number of passengers and the last six digits on your swipe card. Once the cab arrives, provide the driver with your swipe card, picture ID and co-pay and enjoy the ride. It’s that simple!
To register for Lomita’s Dial-A-Ride program, visit City Hall and provide proof of residency and age/disability. If you have any questions, call (310) 508-9849.
