Filming Permit Process
When submitting a Film Permit application, please make sure that it is accompanied by all requested documents as stated on the application. The application will be reviewed by the City, and depending on the size and overall demand that the production may require, the City will provide the applicant with a list of requirements that must be met in order for a film permit to be issued. This may include having LA County Sheriff or Fire personnel present, surveying affected residents and/or businesses for approval, posting of parking signs, etc. Once all requirements have been met, the City may approve the application, provide an agreement with the Terms & Conditions and issue the film permit.
Currently, the film permit application fee is $182.75, and is subject to a business license fee based on the number of days of filming. Business license fees are collected on filming days as well as set-up and tear down days. Additional fees may also be imposed by the City for the posting of signs, and for clean-up of the filming site, if necessary. To ensure that there is adequate time to review such requests, the City asks that applications be submitted at least two weeks prior to the date of production.
