To reserve a shelter, hall and or sports field, you will need to complete our Rental Application Form. All forms will need to be filled out and returned via email or dropped off at our Lomita Park office. Lomita Park is located at 24428 Eshelman Avenue. Our recreation office is in the middle of the park, located
inside the Stephenson Center building, downstairs.
General operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from October through February. From March through September, hours are Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. *Restrooms will be closed at the closing times listed.
*Lomita Park facilities are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
General Rules
There are several general rules that we ask all applicants to follow. The requirements are outlined below.
- Rental payments must be paid two (2) weeks before the scheduled event.
- Deposits will be returned only if all guidelines are followed and the facility is left in a condition that is accepted and approved by park supervision.
- No alcoholic beverages of any kind may be brought to or consumed at any recreational facility. Consumption of alcohol during the scheduled event will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.
- The application must include all set-up and clean-up time. Approved applications will not be permitted to enter the facility before the time indicated on the application. Furthermore, the facility shall be vacated by the ending time indicated on the application.
- The Tom Rico Center is not available on Saturdays until 10 a.m.
- Fun jumps, moon bounces, game trucks, Nerf parties, trackless trains and petting zoos are not permitted.
- There is a two-hour minimum for shelter, facility or field use.
- Renters are responsible for setting up and putting away all tables and chairs that are used.
- Mop, broom and dustpan will be provided for clean up.
- Taco carts are allowed, but must always be located outside during your event.
- Vehicles may not enter the park to drop off or pick up equipment (BBQs, tables, chairs, tents, etc.).
- Food trucks are not permitted.
- Any vendors wishing to sell on City premises are required to apply for a Special Event Permit. Please see below under City Hall Front Lawn/Narbonne Plaza for more information.

Tom Rico Center
Reservation minimum: 2 hours
The Tom Rico Center includes the following: 20 tables, 120 chairs, restrooms, adjacent kitchen with a stove, microwave and refrigerator. Room capacity is 125.

Picnic Shelter
Reservation minimum: 2 hours
There are 3 picnic shelters to choose from. East Shelter is located closest to the softball field, Central Shelter is located between both play structures, and the West Shelter is located closest to the gymnasium. Each Shelter includes 4 picnic style benches and a power outlet. Power will be turned on by recreation staff upon your arrival. 50 person limit per Picnic Shelter.

Marc Fosnaugh Gymnasium
Reservation minimum: 2 hours
Gymnasium is available on limited basis due to use by Lomita Park Youth Sports and Adult Leagues. The facility has one full-sized basketball and volleyball court. Gymnasium capacity is 382.

Softball Field
The softball diamond is regulation sized field with a dirt infield. Hardball is not permitted on the softball diamond. The field’s availability will be based off the Youth Sport’s schedule. Unavailable times include Monday and Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. during the months of April through June and Monday through Friday from 2-7:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. during the summer.

Lomita Railroad Museum
Reservation minimum: 2 hours | Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.
The Lomita Railroad Museum offers a beautiful, secluded, and secure park setting that will make your celebration memorable. Commemorate special events such as birthday parties, family reunions, weddings, and business meetings here! The Irene Lewis Park (next door to the museum) or the Annex Park (across the street from the museum) are both part of the Lomita Railroad Museum complex and available to rent.

Narbonne Plaza, directly across from Lomita City Hall, offers an open space to host pop up shops, exhibits and food truck events. This location is available to rent via a Special Event Permit.
