Introducing the new and improved Lomita Park! Over the past few months, the City has implemented numerous upgrades to our beloved local park.

Earlier this year, Lomita refinished the tennis and basketball courts. The park now offers one multipurpose tennis court, four pickleball courts and one outdoor basketball court for all users.

The City has completed exterior painting at the Tom Rico Center and installed pop cups featuring the Lomita Legacy logo on the basketball court fence. The City also installed a new marquee sign at the park entrance, creating a welcoming gateway and improving visibility for visitors. To continue enhancing the park while promoting sustainability, the City has applied for grant funding to fund the replacement of existing grass with drought-tolerant landscaping around the park and gymnasium building. These exciting facility improvements will enhance the appearance of Lomita Park while also increasing energy efficiency and reducing operating costs.

The Lomita Park playground has officially opened, featuring a brand-new play structure. The new playground includes fresh rubber flooring and numerous play spaces for kids of all ages, such as swings, a variety of slides, climbing apparatuses, monkey bars, shaded seating and more. The old playground parts will be repurposed at Hathaway Park.
