Each year, the City of Lomita eagerly anticipates our Founders Day celebration, which takes place on the last Saturday in June. As part of our continued commitment to supporting local businesses and showcasing Downtown Lomita as the heart of our community, this event will take place on Narbonne Avenue.

Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere filled with carnival rides, games, live music, community performances, one-of-a-kind vendors and a wide variety of delicious food trucks. Founders Day festivities kick off Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., ending the day with our annual fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m. (weather permitting). The celebration continues on Sunday, June 28, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Please note that Narbonne Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Lomita Boulevard and 242nd Street beginning Friday, June 26, at 2 p.m., including impacts to turning lanes at Lomita Boulevard and Narbonne Avenue. For public safety, Lomita Park will be closed on Saturday, June 27. However, Belba Field at Lomita Park will open one hour prior to the fireworks show to be an additional viewing location for the community to enjoy.

Plus, join us on Saturday, June 27, at 11:30 a.m. for our 50-year Lomita Time Capsule unveiling ceremony! Learn more about the Time Capsule and ceremony details.
