The City of Lomita is proud to announce Will Lawson, Code Enforcement Supervisor with the Community and Economic Development Department, as the 2024 Employee of the Year. This annual award recognizes a staff member who exemplifies the City’s core values: Respect, Innovation, High Performance, Professionalism and Integrity.
Lomita is fortunate to have a dedicated team of employees who work tirelessly to serve our community, and Will Lawson’s exceptional contributions over the past year have truly stood out.
Will joined the City over three years ago as a Code Enforcement Officer II and quickly demonstrated his leadership and commitment to excellence. His outstanding performance earned him a promotion to Code Enforcement Supervisor, where he continues to make a significant impact.
Known for his innovative leadership, Will spearheaded initiatives that have improved efficiency and effectiveness in Code Enforcement, such as graffiti removal and encampment removals. His commitment to addressing urban blight and enhancing the quality of life for all residents stands out.
Will is currently attending Arizona State University, further expanding his knowledge and skills to better serve our community. Outside of work and school, Will is a devoted husband and father who values family and community.

Will has played a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of life for Lomita’s residents. His leadership and collaborative approach have not only strengthened his team, but also enhanced the services provided to the community.
