The City of Lomita is excited to announce that Measure LW, which appeared on the ballot for the June 2 Special Municipal Election, has passed.
The newly enacted ¼-cent sales tax measure will ensure that Lomita’s tax dollars remain local, allowing the City to address community-identified priorities. These priorities include crime prevention, maintaining cleanliness in parks and public areas, ensuring Lomita’s long-term financial stability, repairing streets and potholes, supporting neighborhood sheriff patrols and emergency response and upgrading stormwater and sewer pipes.
This tax is expected to generate approximately $650,000 annually for the City, which will be used to improve our local infrastructure and enhance the safety and beauty of our community.
