Flyer with details for Lomita's 2025 Founders DayCity of Lomita Founders Day Returns to Downtown Lomita

Each year, the City of Lomita eagerly anticipates our Founders Day celebration, which takes place on the last Saturday in June. In the past, this festive occasion was held in Downtown Lomita along Narbonne Avenue. However, it was later relocated to Lomita Park, where it coincided with the annual fireworks show. This year, as part of our ongoing commitment to support local businesses and highlight Downtown Lomita as the heart of our community, we are thrilled to announce the return of the celebration to Narbonne Avenue. Get ready for an incredible experience with thrilling rides, entertaining games, live music, crafts and vendors, delicious food trucks and endless family fun.

The festivities will begin on Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and continue on Sunday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Celebrate all weekend long with carnival rides, games, vendors, live music and community performances — capped off with our spectacular Saturday night fireworks show at 9 p.m. Please note that Narbonne Avenue will be closed off between Lomita Boulevard and 242nd Street. The closure to through traffic will begin on Friday, June 27, at 2 p.m. This will affect the turning lanes at Lomita Boulevard and on Narbonne Avenue.

As a reminder, Lomita Park will be closed on Saturday, and no one will be allowed on the park grounds for the safety of the community. However, the Belba Field at Lomita Park will be opened one hour prior to the fireworks show and used as an additional viewing site for the community to enjoy.
