We know these are trying times in our community, but it is in times like these that the values that make Lomita great are best able to shine! We have seen a number of great acts of neighborliness in our community and our region, and we’re sure you have too. If you have a positive story of Lomita lifting up Lomita, the City would like to hear about it. Maybe it’s a simple kind word of thanks; maybe it’s checking on a neighbor; maybe it’s offering to pick up groceries or needed items for an elderly friend or relative, or even how you’re coping with these times by connecting with friends and neighbors digitally…We want to know!

We’ll be collecting these stories and sharing select ones through our E-Newsletter and our Social Media outlets. We all need to do our part to keep our community safe and healthy and connected, but let’s not forget what makes Lomita the Friendly City – it’s you! Share your stories with us, and let’s all help Lift Up Lomita!
Lomita residents also have an opportunity to help to identify members of our community who might have specific needs. The members of the City Council and the employees of the City of Lomita have teamed up to donate funds and have worked with our local businesses to get a limited supply of water, paper goods and other items. We are currently assembling small care packages to be delivered to seniors and those in need in our community.
Want to help out? We’re asking for your help in identifying anyone who has a need for these basic items. We are starting with about 200 bags containing some water, toilet paper and information about how we can all help reduce the spread of coronavirus, and we’ll be adding more bags as we can. Our goal is to make sure those in our community who need to be at home still have access to the things they need.
