Each year, the City of Lomita selects a staff member to honor with the title of “Employee of the Year”. Selection is based on an evaluation of their commitment to demonstrating Lomita’s core values of respect, innovation, high performance, professionalism and integrity. The city is proud to announce the selection of Senior Management Analyst Lina Hernandez as the 2023 Employee of the Year.
Lina has two decades of experience in local government, having dedicated over four years of service to Lomita. As Senior Management Analyst, Lina performs a variety of administrative, technical and analytical duties within the city, including developing recommendations and work plans for department policies.
“Lina’s dedication to our city has been evident through her involvement in numerous projects across all departments,” said Assistant City Manager Gary Sugano. “The city is grateful to have Lina on board, as her contributions significantly contribute to making our community a better place.”
City staff note that Lina’s strengths include her outstanding work ethic, commitment to excellence and her ability to work well with others. In the past year, Lina has been involved in the planning of the City’s Annual State of the City, citywide staff reorganization programming, special event planning, including the 60th Anniversary, legislative advocacy and communication efforts.
The city is grateful to have Lina on Team Lomita, and congratulates her on this well-deserved recognition.
