The City of Lomita is excited to introduce the Lomita Sports Voucher Pass, made possible through proceeds from the 2025 Mayor’s Golf Tournament. This initiative aims to give Lomita children greater access to the fun team building and personal growth that youth sports provide.
As part of the program, Lomita residents will be issued a Voucher Pass worth $45 that can be redeemed towards the $55 registration fee for either of the City’s 2025 fall co-ed youth flag football or volleyball leagues. The generous youth sports pass reflects the Mayor and City Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting youth recreation.
“This year’s Mayor’s Golf Tournament was an overwhelming success, thanks to the generous contributions from a number of community members and City partners, including Athens, Transtech and members of the City Council,” said Lomita Mayor Mark Waronek. “We are proud to follow through on our promise that proceeds from the Tournament will be reinvested in our youth sports programs.”
Registration for the fall co-ed youth flag football and volleyball leagues will begin on Monday, August 4, at 9 a.m. at Lomita Park, located at 24428 Eshelman Ave. Voucher Passes valued at $45 will be issued at the time of registration for in-person residents only. Distribution of Voucher Passes will start at 8 a.m., one hour before registration opens, and will be limited to the first 120 participants. Passes may be distributed to multiple youth within a Lomita household, but may only be used towards the registration of one sport.
Proof of Lomita residency must be provided through a valid ID or driver’s license, accompanied by a qualifying utility bill or cellphone bill with the same name on the ID.
