These Updates from the City Manager are designed to keep Lomita residents informed about the City’s ongoing projects, programs and priorities. These updates provide timely information on community improvements, public safety efforts and infrastructure investments, along with highlights of recent accomplishments and what’s coming next.

Published every two weeks, the Updates from the City Manager aim to offer transparency into City operations and ensure residents stay connected to how Lomita is working to enhance the quality of life across the community.

Dear Lomita Residents,

Street Sweeping and Trash Collection Changes Update

Beginning next week, Public Works crews will begin installing new street signs citywide indicating updated street sweeping parking restrictions. Installation is expected to take approximately three weeks. During this period, signs will remain covered while our community transitions to the new system. Each sign will include a QR code, linking to our dedicated webpage with updated service maps and schedules. While the signs are covered, street sweeping parking enforcement will be paused, and residents should continue to follow the current service schedule. The new schedule will officially take effect on April 1, with signs uncovered the week of March 30. Staff will closely monitor the transition period.

To learn more about the upcoming changes, visit our street sweeping and trash collection updates webpage.
