The City of Lomita has successfully upgraded the Appian Way Pressure Reducing and Pump Station, enhancing its reliability and resilience with the addition of a backup generator and a new roof. Since 1992, this critical facility has provided safe drinking water to Lomita residents, and these improvements ensure continued service during power outages and long-term structural integrity.
A key enhancement is the installation of a new standby generator, capable of fully powering the City’s water pump facilities. This ensures that in the event of an electrical outage, residents will still have uninterrupted access to clean drinking water.
Additionally, the City opted to install a durable metal truss roof system, providing a long-term solution while maintaining the safety and integrity of the facility.
With these vital upgrades, Appian Way Pressure Reducing and Pump Station is now better equipped to serve the Lomita community, ensuring a reliable, uninterrupted supply of safe drinking water for years to come.
